Daniel S Hurd

Dr. Daniel Hurd is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic Surgeon, serving as the President and CEO of New River Dermatology. Since 1999, he has been delivering superior dermatologic care to the New River Valley and Wytheville areas through his private practice.
A graduate of Marshall University, Dr. Hurd attended medical school at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating with high honors. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Dermatology at Ohio University. Dr. Hurd is double boarded in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and is the only physician in Blacksburg, Virginia to provide this specialized surgical service.
Dr. Hurd has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles, and is a sought-after speaker at regional and national conferences. He also directs postgraduate dermatology training for physicians from across the United States. His leadership roles include past president of the West Virginia Dermatology Society, and current Dermatology Program Director and Discipline Chair at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Additionally, he serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, an Assistant Clinical Professor at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Committed to giving back, Dr. Hurd provides free dermatologic care both regionally and internationally. He resides in Blacksburg, Virginia with his wife and four daughters.
Angie Hurd

Angie received her Physician Assistant Bachelor of Science degree from the Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2004. She then immediately began a career in dermatology in Bluefield, Virginia, because of her fascination with the many different conditions that can affect the skin.
She is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants, and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Joe A. Sheets

Joe A. Sheets, PA-C graduated from The College of West Virginia in Beckley, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Physician Assistant. Joe has over 16 years of experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, of which ten years have been in dermatology.
Kelsey Wolford

Kelsey, earned her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Emory & Henry College, before beginning her career in dermatology. She is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants, and is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Kelsey chose dermatology because she wants every patient to feel powerful, beautiful, capable and strong. Each day she works hard to improve the quality of life for her patients by treating a variety of skin conditions we can SEE!
Christina “Nina” Rice

Nina is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Masters Degree in Nursing. Born and raised in Giles County, Virginia, she went on to earn her Associates degree at Wytheville Community College prior to receiving her Bachelor’s and Masters at Bluefield College.
Nina began practicing with our team in April of 2022, and is excited to provide excellent care to the patients of New River Dermatology. She is passionate about helping others, and has had an interest in the medical field since she was a young girl. Nina is practicing at our Blacksburg and Roanoke office, which fulfills her excitement to meet more of the dynamic Southwest Virginia community she has grown to know and love.
Regan Gardner

Regan is a Physician Assistant with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Emory & Henry College in 2020. Prior to this, she attended Virginia Tech for her Bachelor of Science degree. She is nationally certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine. She is also a member of the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants.
She was born and raised in Salem, Virginia. She will primarily be working at our Roanoke location and is eager to assist the patients of her community.
Bailee Brewster

Bailee Brewster is a dedicated nurse with expertise in oncology, dermatology, and aesthetics. A graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), she is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP), with graduation anticipated in Spring 2025.
Bailee is passionate about enhancing patient confidence and well-being through advanced aesthetic treatments, including BOTOX, dermal fillers, laser, ultrasound therapy, other skin-enhancing procedures. She is committed to ongoing professional development, ensuring she delivers the highest quality care and stays at the forefront of innovation in her field.
Residing in Salem with her son, Bailee balances her career, education, and family life. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, hiking, and spending quality time with loved ones.
Megan Alderman

Megan Alderman, PA-C, is originally from southwest Virginia. She earned her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech before pursuing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Milligan University.
Megan is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed through the Virginia Board of Medicine. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Gabrey Brewster

Gabrey obtained her Basic Esthetic License at Belle Sante Cosmetic Day Spa in Roanoke, VA and her Master License at Lillique Training Institute in Fairfax, VA.
Gabrey is a Master Esthetician dedicated to crafting personalized skin care experiences that enhance natural beauty and promote self-confidence. With a passion for skincare science and result-oriented treatments, she combines expertise and extensive knowledge to deliver patient satisfaction. Gabrey believes skin care is NOT one size fits all, therefore she specializes in custom skin care regimes and combination treatments to make sure she addresses any and every concern her patients have.

Caleb is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from Franklin University. He is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and proudly serves as a member of the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Society.
He is an SDPA Diplomate Affiliate, which reflects his commitment to advanced training and excellence in dermatology.
Caleb specializes in both medical and surgical dermatology, driven by a passion for helping patients feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. He understands that many individuals face both internal and external challenges regarding their skin health.
With a compassionate approach, Caleb’s goal is to empower you to embrace your skin, foster a positive self-image, and effectively treat a variety of medical dermatological conditions.
At our practice, Caleb is dedicated to providing personalized care and evidence-based treatment options, ensuring that each patient receives the attention and support they deserve. Outside of work, Caleb enjoys spending time with his partner Zack and his dog, Amelie.
He loves hiking, traveling, singing, thrifting, and exploring new culinary experiences. These passions not only enrich his life but also enhance his ability to connect with patients on a personal level.
